About the Event
Come and join us in the beautiful Lake District for our brilliant business networking bike rides!
These rides are about experiencing bucket list routes whilst getting the chance to meet new people. Networking is part and parcel, but as cyclists we're likely to meet new friends for life. We will ride in small groups in a bit of a chaingang rotation, giving you the chance to speak to everyone in your mini peloton. We'll all meet up at the cafe stops but will also look to mix up the groups where possible.
There will be groups of differing pace depending on numbers, so don't worry if you're a novice or a pro, as long as you can get round. No one gets left behind! Networking is better at a steady pace. You'll have access to goodies and nutrition from our partnered brands during the day, and the cafe stop is on us! There will also be 2 routes to choose from - a longer and shorter, steadier one:
Long Ride – 98.8KM 1727m of climbing
You set off out of historic Cartmel (home of the sticky toffee pudding!!) along the side of the racecourse and climb up Bigland hill. At the top there are spectacular views across the Levens valley and if you are lucky you may see the steam railway running from Haverthwaite to Lakeside (Southern Point of Windermere). The route continues north winding your way up Grizedale Moor Top, where again you are greeted with stunning views. We descend down to our café stop on the banks of Esthwaite Water. Once refreshed and refuelled the route takes us around Esthwaite Water and in to Ambleside. Time to get your climbing legs on, as this is where you face The Struggle! Get to the Kirkstonestone Pass Inn at the top and turn around and drink in that view, it was worth the pain!! You then descend down and work your way in to the historic market town of Kendal. Skirting around the bulk of the town you are up and over Scout Scar and heading in the general direction of home. But this would not be the Lakes unless there is a sting in the tail. As you head towards Cartmel Fell you will need to tackle the local legend that is Tow Top Road, get over that and the end is nearly in sight. We do a quick loop around Grange over Sands and back in to Cartmel for a very well earned Cavendish Gold.
Short Ride – 51.8KM 659m of climbing
The start is very similar but slightly less lumpy right up to the café stop. From there we head south past Esthwaite Water and on to another cheeky little climb known on Strava as Ouch! After Ouch! It’s a lovely undulating road through Gratythwaite and on to Lakeside where the Steam Railway terminates and where the steamer boats set off on their way north up Windermere. From Newby Bridge we retrace our steps back in to Cartmel and The Cavendish Arms for a cheeky pint of Cavendsih Gold and a generous helping of Sticky Toffee Pudding!
Lynne Whitton and some of her team will be there to welcome riders back and regale you with Fred Whitton related stories and amusing anecdotes.
Tullio rides stem from networking on the bike for business leaders & senior professionals. Many people invest personally, but why not sign up through your business or expense to your employer if you can; just as you would with a golf day...? At the same time we're also a cycling 'club' for these same business folk. So you can simply come to meet friends and experience awesome days out in the saddle together.
Route and start location kindly planned by Tullio member Ian Pinchen!
* You can invest in your network personally, but why not charge Tullio to your business? It is networking after all *
